Enable CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo

0x80070057 error might occur if the CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo feature is disabled in the Registry. This feature is commonly used to improve the file copying speed in Windows.

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type RegEdit
  3. Click OK or press ENTER.
  4. Open the following subkey:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates
  5. Click the Edit menu.
  6. Select New | DWORD Value.
  7. Specify the name “CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo” and value as “1
  8. Click OK.
