Modify Game Settings To Resolve Mortal Kombat X Crashes

Here’s how to open application data files and make required changes to game settings:

For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:

  1. Press Windows Key + R keys simultaneously.
  2. Type following path:
  • AppData
  1. Click OK.
  2. Open following path:
  • ..\Roaming\MK10\
  1. Right-click Options.ini file, select Open with | Notepad.
  2. Click Edit | Find.
  3. Type “CapFPS” in “Find what” textbox.
  4. Set CapFPS as False which is found under [Development] root.
  5. Press Ctrl + S. Exit the file.

Unlock the Game in Japan & Germany

Are you a resident of Japan or Germany? If so, you may have to follow a little trick in Steam Library.

For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:

  1. Double click Steam desktop icon.
  2. Open up your Games Library.
  3. Right-click Mortal Kombat X, select Properties from context menu.
  4. Click DLC tab.
  5. Now that you’ve list of all DLCs- including installed and pending.
  6. Check-up the “Install” checkbox ahead of all DLCs that are currently not installed on your system. Example: Install Pack 1, …, 20
  7. Start the installation of those packs.

Disable Intel Turbo Boosting Feature

Fire up Power Options dialog and turn off an unsupported feature called “Turbo Boosting.”

  1. Press Windows Key + X, select Control Panel.
  2. Click Hardware and Sound | Power Options.
  3. Click “Change plan settings” ahead of your current plan.
  4. Now scroll down the subsequent page.
  5. Expand Processor Power Management node.
  6. Set the following:
  • On battery: 95%
  • Plugged in: 95%
  1. Click OK.

For Windows 7:

  1. Click Start, choose Control Panel from Start Menu.
  2. Click System and Security | Power Options.
  3. Refer Steps # 3-7 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s section.

For Windows Vista:

  1. Click Start, select Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Maintenance | Power Options.
  3. Refer Steps # 3-7 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s section.

Set Supported Screen Resolution

Make sure you set a compatible screen resolution before launching the game.

For Windows 10:

1. Type “Screen Resolution” in the Search Box located on your Taskbar.

3. Select a supported display resolution from the “Resolution” drop-down box, and then click Apply.

For Windows 8.1/ 8:

1. Right-click Desktop, choose Screen Resolution.

2. In the new window that opens, select a supported resolution under “Resolution” drop-down box.

For Windows 7/ Vista:

  1. Click Start | Control Panel.
  2. Click Adjust screen resolution (Appearance and Personalization).
  3. Set a supported resolution, click Apply.
