Delete Multiplayer Cache To Prevent Arma 3 Crashes
Over a period cache contents are corrupted. Go to the application data directory and clean-up the cache.
For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:
- Exit the game completely.
- Press Windows Key + R simultaneously.
- Type “%AppData%” and click OK.
- Open following location:
- ..\Arma 3\
- Delete the folder named “MPMissionCache.”
- Reopen the game again with the multiplayer mode to create fresh cache contents.
Delete Corrupted PhysX3_x86.dll File
This DLL file is an essential component of Steam. It may be corrupted. Delete that file and initiate verification of game cache integrity.
For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8:
- Double click This PC or Computer icon.
- Open following location:
- C:\Program Files\Steam\
- Press F3 key to initiate Search feature. Type “PhysX3_x86.dll” in Search Box located on the upper right corner.
- Now you’ve the search result on your screen. Right-click and select “Delete” option for the PhysX3_x86.dll file as it has been probably corrupted.
- Exit File Explorer. Open the Steam application.
- Go to Games Library and right click Arma 3 icon; select Properties.
- In the new dialog that opens, click Local Files tab.
- Click “Verify integrity of game cache” button. Your deleted file will be re-downloaded again.
For Windows 7/ Vista:
- Click Start button on your Taskbar.
- Type “PhysX3_x86.dll” in the Search Box on the bottom.
- As soon as you start typing the file name into Search Box, the file name will be displayed in Search Result. Right click that file, select Open folder location.
- Right click the target file, select Delete option.
- Refer Steps # 5-8 under Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8 user’s section.
Change Game Settings
Arma 3 configuration file is located in the Documents folder. Open that file with Notepad and change its contents.
For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8:
- Double click Users folder on your Desktop.
- Open following location:
- For Windows 8.1/ 8: ..\My Documents\Arma 3\
- For Windows 10: ..\Documents\Arma 3
- Right click Config.cfg file, select Open with | Notepad.
- Click Edit | Find, type “gpu max frames” and click Find Next.
- Set the following value:
- gpu max frames 1
- cpu max frames 1
- Also, set the following configurations:
- Click File | Save.
For Windows 7/ Vista:
- Click Start, select Documents.
- Open “Arma 3” subfolder.
- Refer Steps # 3-7 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s section.
Change Launch Options
Here are the steps to change game launch options:
For Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:
- Launch Steam.
- Go to Games Library.
- Right-click Arma 3 icon, select Properties from the context menu list.
- Click Set Launch Options.
- Add the following text in the text box:
- -malloc=system
- Click OK.
