This first-person shooter game has gained popularity ever since it’s first in line edition. The Global Offensive edition comes with a wide variety of weapons, core modes, as many as 14 factions, and many other interesting features.

Use Compatibility Mode

If one of your games don’t run properly, it’s worth trying to launch it in compatibility mode.

  1. Double-click This PC icon.
  2. Open the following location:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive
  3. Right-click the csgo.exe file, choose Run as Administrator.
  4. Check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for.
  5. Select an earlier Windows version, click OK.

Auto-Configure Game with Best Settings

Your game launch options need to be reconfigured. Enable Steam to auto-configure your game with the best possible settings.

  1. Open the Steam Client.
  2. Go to the Games Library.
  3. Right-click the game icon, choose Properties.
  4. Click Set launch options.
  5. Add the following command:
    • autoconfig”
  6. Click OK.

Disable Antivirus Protection

If you’re using Bit Defender Antivirus, temporarily disable it’s security protection. The Intrusion Detection feature of the antivirus sometimes conflicts with the game DLLs.

Perform Reinstall

The Steam Client stores important user configurations and in-game data during runtime. You might want to back it up before performing a reinstall.

  1. Quit the Steam Client.
  2. Open the following location:
    • C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\
  3. Right-click SteamApps sub-folder, and choose Cut.
  4. Paste the same on Desktop.
  5. Press Windows Key + X, select Apps and Features.
  6. Select Steam, choose Uninstall.
  7. Follow the wizard, and then restart the computer after successful completion.
  8. Re-install Steam, and after finishing up, move back the SteamApps folder to it’s original location.

Disable Unsupported In-Game Features

Change the in-game video settings and disable the unsupported feature(s).

  1. Go to the following location:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg
  2. Open up the Video.txt file in Notepad.
  3. Search for setting.mem_level, and replace it’s value to “0” (zero without quotes)
  4. Save the file, and exit.

Update Display Driver

Update your video drivers to the latest version online.

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type DxDiag
  3. Press ENTER.
  4. When you’re asked to check drivers for digital signature, click No.
  5. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click the Display tab.
  6. Check for the Manufacturer name under the Device section.
  7. Google the display driver for your manufacturer, and install it.
